Game of Tiaras
Performance Dates: April 23rd, April 30th

Description: When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.

Description: A creepy, cross-curricular masterpiece with tons of theatricality and a whole lot of fun. The thumping of a heartbeat. The creek of a door. The howl of a bitter wind. The gong of a clock tower. The clang of alarm bells. The sound of beating wings getting closer and closer… Specters, ghosts and ghouls come alive in this vivid theatrical adaptation of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s best-known works. Included are The Tell-Tale Heart, The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death. Poe’s words rise from the page like corpses from the grave. Be careful. Do you hear that tap, tap, tapping?

Description: A full day of theatre! Watch several junior highs throughout Katy ISD engage in friendly competition with each school performing a one act play throughout the day. TTAO certified adjudicators score each show on a UIL 1-5 scale, give critiques and feedback, and award specific students for their acting/technical performance.
